Cheska asked the Talent Acquisition Manager to walk through the process of hiring new talent. The Talent Acquisition Manager said, "At OBP, we have an extensive and structured recruitment process. It starts with the initial screening of resumes and cover letters. We're looking for candidates who have relevant experience and skills that match the job requirements."
"Next, we conduct a phone screen to assess their communication skills and passion for the job and determine if they would be a good fit for our company culture. If they pass this stage, we then invite them to an in-person or virtual interview where they meet with members of the team, including their potential manager and peers. During the interview, we ask behavioral-based questions that allow us to assess their skills and how they might fit into the team."
She added, "We conduct reference checks and use a combination of objective and subjective assessments to evaluate the candidate's skills, experience, and overall fit with the team. Our goal is to make sure we hire the best talent possible who are not only qualified for the job but also aligned with our company culture."
When Cheska asked what makes OBP's recruitment process unique, The Talent Acquisition Manager said, "One thing that sets us apart is our emphasis on culture fit. The first challenge is that most of the roles we’re looking for need specialized skills and experience, and there are not many experienced professionals in the field. This means that there is a limited pool of candidates to choose from, and the competition for these candidates is intense."
She continued, "The second challenge is that the industry is constantly evolving, and new technologies and standards are being developed all the time. This means that professionals in the industry need to be adaptable and able to learn quickly to stay on top of the latest developments. This can be a challenge for some candidates who may not have experience in such a fast-paced and ever-changing environment."
She added, "The third challenge is that OBP needs to compete with other industries to attract top talents.
